Description
Pacific Car & Foundry built a total of 41 of these 70-ton cars for the Missouri Pacific system in April 1975. Numbers 269014 thru 269039 were delivered with MP reporting marks while cars 269040 thru 269054 were lettered for the Texas Pacific. Due to internal Air-Pak load dividers, the cubic foot capacity was listed as 7320 cubic feet. PC&F later delivered a similar looking car that had one fewer panel on each side of the door, end cushioning and were rated at 100 tons. The later cars were also delivered with the "screaming eagle" herald. While Union Pacific has repainded many of these cars, some can still be seen on the rails today.
